Angerman began racing motocross at age 5 along side his father and brother. He was not very interested in competitive motocross racing and with the guidance of his father he made the move into karts; however, continues to compete in a few events yearly. From the ages of 13 to 16 he raced go-karts in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas with 3 wins and quite a few podiums. Always interested in cars, when Angerman turned 16 he started drifting at Englishtown’s monthly open drift nights and was hooked. He then took all he spare time and money and began to compete in local grassroots events, where he has earned podium finishes and respect as an up and coming drift driver. Angerman was recruited in 2009, by Gardella Racing, to become a developmental driver and spotter for Tuerck in the Formula Drift series.
